U.S Presidential Election: Joe Biden Steps Down for Kamala Harris, Issues Statement

President Joe Biden has stepped down his reelection bid and declare his full support to his Vice, Kamala Harris.

Following his decision, Kamala Harris is now the official presidential candidate of the Democrats party in the coming November 2024 Presidential election.

In a statement on Sunday, President Joe Biden who was, until now seeking for reelection, revealed the reason he stepped down for his Vice.

“Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year”, President Joe Biden said in a statement posted on his X official handle.

He called on his party, Democrats and his supporters to give Harris their full support as she emerged the Democrats flagbearer for the November presidential election.

The full statement read:

“My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made.”

“Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.”
