Following the ongoing #Endbadgovernance protest, Dele Momodu has called on President Bola Tinubu to address Nigerians who are on the street protesting against economic hardship bedeviling the country.

Momodu in a post on X formerly Twitter, opined that hunger and extravagant lifestyles of the Nigerian politicians pushed the citizens to protest.

“They were provoked by the extravagant lifestyles of their leaders who keep telling them to be patient from one government to another”, Momodu posted on X.

According to him, the protest is organic without financial inducement and the people are united by hunger, not by ethnicity, hence the president should address them before it turns violent.

Speaking on the reports that the protest turning violent, Momodu said there is no country in the world where protest is absolutely peaceful. “There is no country in the world where protests are absolutely peaceful… They’ve been largely peaceful despite attacks from physical and online bullies who pretend never to have participated in street protests before.”

“I pray the government will do what is right by addressing their grievances instead of attacking them.”

The 2023 PDP Presidential Aspirant also noted that citizens have the right to protest adding that, “Protest is an integral part of DEMOCRACY & CIVILISATION.”

According to him, “CHIEF MOSHOOD & KUDIRAT ABIOLA, PA ALFRED REWANE and others died for what some people are toying with today. They can never be brought back but we shall always remember their uncommon sacrifices.”
