Wisdom, 13, has committed suicide following accusations that he stole N10,000 from his 16 year old neighbor, girl named Hope.
The incident which took place at a community in Chikun LGA, Kaduna State, left the community heartbroken following the death of Wisdom.
In a video aired by ChannelsTV, the 16 year old girl said her 10k was missing and she suspected her 13 year old neighbor, Wisdom.
Angered that her money was missing, she went and told her boyfriend who alleged to be a serving soldier and he took the boy to military base & tortured him.
The boy, Wisdom, got home, brutalized and couldn’t stand the pains inflicted on him, committed suicide only for the girl’s brother to confess to stealing the 10k.
Speaking to ChannelsTV, Wisdom’s mother, narrated that Wisdom was brutalized by the alleged soldier who happened to be boyfriend to the 16 year old neighbor, Hope.
Wisdom’s mother said her son couldn’t sit on chair or sleep very well following the torture he received from the alleged soldier. However, they’re devastated that he took his own life.
She went further to say, the girl’s brother, later confessed of stealing the money and brought out 9k out of the 10k. Saying that the remaining N1,000 is with his sister, Hope, who went to her mother’s.
“The money was not found in my son’s hand, still they took him to the JTF office and beat him. They beat him at his buttocks, laps and his back, to the extent where he cannot walk, he cannot sit down”.
Speaking on the death of his son, Wisdom’s father said the incident has happened and his son is already dead because of false accusation, he called on the authorities to take note and stop the reoccurrence.
“My boy has already died, there’s nothing we can do about it. It’s inevitable to die, all of us. But my fear now is for the community to curtail the reoccurrence of this,” the father said.
The report said the neighbor, Hope, 16, who accused Wisdom of stealing is under police custody and her mother has condemned the action.
Meanwhile, the Kaduna State police command said they’re aware of the incident and has commenced full investigation into the matter.
Speaking on the matter, Mansir Hassan, PRO Kaduna State Police Command, said investigation has commenced and the State commissioner of Police has directed the department of criminal investigation to arrest whoever is involved.
He added, “whosoever is involved, justice must be served.”
