Mr. Elowo Chukwuemeka, a Tomatoes and Pepper Farmer from Alayi in Bende LGA, Abia State, has showcased the massive harvest he made from his farm.
In a video obtained by Daily9jaInfo, the farmer flanked by his farm products called on the State and federal government to invest in their local farmers to enable them cultivate more tomatoes and pepper.
Recall that fresh Tomato is one of the farm products that its price shoots up as Nigeria recorded food inflation in the recent times. According to research, a basket of fresh tomatoes is being sold in the market at the price of N84,000 from N13,000 it was being sold in 2014.
However, Mr. Chukwuemeka said if the government invested well in their farm, they can produce more compared to what they have now.
“With good investment, we can produce a large number of fresh tomatoes that will be enough to sell to other parts of the country,” the farmer said.
He called on the government to come to their aid and assist them financially and provide them with the right tools to carry on their farm.
