Nigerian Lawyer Shares Response She Got From US Embassy After She Asked Them To Review Visa Fees

A Nigerian Lawyer, Tife Majek Esq, has shared a response she got from the United States Embassy in Nigeria, after she wrote a letter to them concerning their Visa fees.

The lawyer in an Instagram post said she was disturbed by the high cost of Visa fees charged by the US Embassy and decided to write the embassy to review their fees following the facts that dollar rate has dropped significantly.

Tife said, she was reluctant to share the response she got but was pushed to share it because it’s a good news. According to her, she received an email response that the Visa fees has been reviewed and slashed from N567k to N259k.

“Honestly i’m glad I could make a change for thousands of Nigerians that have been having difficulties meeting up with the US visa fees.” The lawyer said.

“So I did a thing. Initially didn’t want to say anything before but my sisters made me realize how much of a big deal this is and I’ve decided to share

“So I wrote a petition last week to the US Embassy to reduce the US visa fees cos the dollar rate has dropped significantly and they need to review their FX rate. They responded immediately and said they would work on it.

“Yesterday, I got a notification from my US embassy account that they’ve reduced it. My boss messaged me as well to give me the good news. US Visa fees for Nigerians has been reduced from 567k to 259k!!

“Honestly i’m glad I could make a change for thousands of Nigerians that have been having difficulties meeting up with the US visa fees.

“I’m so proud of myself.
