The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, (COSEYL), the apex sociopolitical youth group in the South East geopolitical zone call for the immediate arrest and prosecution of those persons who initiated the retrial of Distinguish Senator Orji Uzor Kalu over an EFCC matter that has already been settled by the court where he was cleared of all charges whatsoever.
The group in a statement signed by its President General, Comrade Goodluck Ibem, said the “frivolous retrial is an aberration and an insult on our democracy.”
He commended the federal high court for throwing out the case, “We commend the Federal Court of Appeal for standing in defence of our democracy by throwing away such frivolous matter.”
“We call on Senator Orji Kalu to disregard the antics of enemies of progress and democracy who we are very convinced are attacking him because of his litany of life touching projects which he attracted and executed for the good of Abia North senatorial zone and Nigeria at large.
“We urge Senator Kalu not to be discouraged by enemies of progress as he continue to work for the betterment of our dear nation.
