Yuletide: Peace Mass Transit completes FRSC training for 2,000 drivers

Peace Mass Transit (PMT), one of Nigeria’s foremost transport companies, has announced the successful completion of a comprehensive refresher training programme for 1,000 of its drivers.

The training, conducted in collaboration with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), reaffirmed PMT’s commitment to safety and customer satisfaction during the holiday season and beyond.

The exercise, which commenced on October 19, 2023, and ended on December 6, was conducted at PMT’s Emene workshop in Enugu and covered a diverse range of essential topics.

The programme, developed in partnership with FRSC and PMT’s safety and customer service departments, focused on defensive driving techniques, adherence to traffic rules and regulations, vehicle maintenance, road signs and markings, speed limits, lane discipline, accident prevention and management, passenger rights and responsibilities, and communication skills.

Mr. Nnamdi Asadu, the head of operations at PMT, underscored the significance of this initiative in ensuring the safety of passengers and other road users.

He stressed PMT’s consistent dedication to driver training since its establishment in 1994, with this exercise serving as a timely refresher to align drivers with the latest industry trends and best practices.

During his address, Mr. Asadu urged the drivers to leverage the knowledge gained during the training and apply it diligently to their daily operations. He emphasised PMT’s zero-tolerance policy for any indiscipline or negligence that could compromise customer safety or tarnish the company’s reputation.

Expressing gratitude to the FRSC for their collaboration, Mr.Nnamdi Asadu commended the drivers for their dedication and professionalism.

He assured them of PMT’s continued support through incentives and welfare packages to motivate them to provide excellent service.
